Flash Flood Watch

Statement as of 3:31 AM CDT on April 29, 2016

Expires 11:00 AM EDT on April 30, 2016

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 10 am CDT this
morning through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Arkansas... southeast Oklahoma and
northeast Texas... including the following areas... in southwest
Arkansas... Hempstead... Howard... Little River... Miller... Nevada
and Sevier. In southeast Oklahoma... McCurtain. In northeast
Texas... Bowie and Red River.

* From 10 am CDT this morning through Saturday morning

* showers and thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall are expected
to become more numerous as we go through today across the Flash
Flood Watch area. Widespread rainfall amounts of three to five
inches... with isolated higher amounts in excess of six
inches... are expected across the watch area through Saturday
morning. Given that grounds remain saturated in wake of
widespread heavy rainfall that fell during March and April...
this additional heavy rainfall could enhance runoff and result
in flash flooding.

* In addition to the flash flooding threat... this heavy rainfall
will cause significant rises on area rivers and lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
