The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
north central Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* until 700 PM MST

* at 402 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Affected locations include... but are not limited to... north
Scottsdale... Fountain Hills... north Phoenix... surprise... and West
Phoenix.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Advisory means that normally dry washes will be running and
low spots will have ponding of water which will create a hazard to
motorists. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find
alternate routes.

... The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 445 PM MST
for east central Maricopa and northern Pinal counties...

At 300 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall of 1 to 2
inches due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding
in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.
Local media has reported flooded washes flowing over some area
roadways in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mesa... Apache Junction... Gold Camp... Usery Mountain Park...
Superstition Mountains... Lost Dutchman State Park... Kings ranch and
Queen Valley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* until 545 PM MST

* at 249 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen near
flying east wash. Additional rainfall is expected which will
produce running water in this wash and potentially across some
roadways.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wickenburg.

... Blowing dust advisory in effect until 6 PM MST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a blowing dust
advisory... which is in effect until 6 PM MST this evening.

* Affected area... southwest Maricopa County and Yuma County

* timing... until 6 PM.

* Winds... 25 to 35 mph.

* Visibility... below 3 miles and as low as one half to one mile in
spots.

* Impacts... reduced visibilities in blowing dust will create
hazardous driving conditions. Affected roadways include Interstate
8... Highway 85... and city streets in Yuma.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be ready for a sudden drop in visibility. If you encounter
blowing dust or blowing sand on the roadway or see it
approaching... pull off the Road as far as possible and put your
vehicle in Park. Turn the lights all the way off and keep your
foot off the brake pedal.

Remember... pull aside... stay alive.
