... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 600 PM MDT for
northwestern Mesa County...

At 447 PM MDT... trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
having caused flash flooding across the warned area. While
thunderstorms have moved off to the east... some flooding may
continue.

Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grand
Junction and Redlands.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

Areal Flood Advisory

... The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 515 PM MDT
for southwestern Mesa County...

At 318 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to repeated
thunderstorms had ended over the advisory area. Radar estimated
between one and two inches of rain has fallen in spots... with water
still likely flowing in small streams and normally dry washes and
canyons.

This flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern
Mesa County but may impact Highway 141 south of Gateway.

This includes the following streams and drainages... John Brown
creek... Salt Creek... Maverick and little Maverick canyons... and
Cottonwood Canyon.
