... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Sunday evening through
Tuesday morning...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Storm Watch for heavy snow... which is in effect from
Sunday evening through Tuesday morning.

* Locations include the cities of... Durango... Bayfield...
Ignacio... Pagosa Springs.

* Timing... snow will begin on Sunday evening and last through
early Tuesday morning.

* Snow accumulation... 5 to 10 inches.

* Impacts... mountain roadways will become snow packed on Sunday
evening. Winter driving conditions are expected through early
next week. Visibilities will be reduced to under a half mile at
times during the heaviest snowfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

The winter storm that began Thursday morning, Jan. 19, with the first
wave continues to impact western Colorado and eastern Utah with snowfall
from a second wave this afternoon.

The following reports are preliminary and are considered unofficial. The
first section containing the mountain ranges are mostly from automated
sensors, while the second section is a combination of various reports,
some of which are 24 hour values and some are 48.
