Colorado, Wet Mountains between 6300 and 10000Ft

Winter Storm Warning

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight MDT
tonight...

* locations... Lake... Chaffee... Teller... El Paso... western and
central Fremont counties... the eastern Sawatch mountains above
11000 feet... the Sangre de Cristo Mountains above 7500 feet...
Pikes Peak... the Wet Mountains and Wet Mountain Valley above
6300 feet.

* Cause and timing... a strong Spring storm system will bring
rounds of heavy... wet snow to the area into this evening.

* Snow accumulation... storm total accumulations of 1 to 2 feet
across the higher elevations above 9000 feet... with 6 to 12
inches over elevations between 7000 and 1000 feet. Total snow
accumulations will be highly variable below about 7000 feet...
in general ranging from 4 to 8 inches.

* Impact... heavy... wet snow will cause periods of hazardous
travel conditions. Power outages and tree damage will be
possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous.
