Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Ohoopee river near Reidsville.
* At 9 PM Friday the stage was 10.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Saturday morning and continue
to rise to near 15.6 feet by early Tuesday morning.
* At 14.0 feet... flooding of several Riverside unimproved roads and
some agricultural land occurs.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Altamaha river at Charlotte.
* From Sunday afternoon until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:45 PM Friday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Sunday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 16.3 feet by Wednesday evening.
* Impact... at 16.0 feet... minor flooding expands into The Woodlands
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on theu.S.
Highway 221 bridge. The water will be one to two feet deep over
portions of towns Bluff Lane by the bridge. Flood waters continue
to expand further into south Montgomery County around 1.5 miles
upstream from the gage. The water will be 2 to 4 feet deep over
large portions of Three Rivers Lane... Altamaha River Road and Ogle
sandbar Road.
* Impact... at 14.0 feet... minor flooding continues in The Woodlands
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on theu.S.
Highway 221 bridge. The water covers the low portion and entrance
of towns Bluff Lane by the bridge.The public boat ramp is under two
feet of water. Flood waters expand further into south Montgomery
County around 1.5 miles upstream from the gage. The water will be
one to two feet deep over portions ofthree rivers Lane... Altamaha
River Road and Ogle sandbar Road.
* Impact... at 13.0 feet... minor flooding occurs in The Woodlands along
the river upstream and downstream from the gage on theu.S. Highway
221 bridge. The water reaches the top of the public boat ramp by
the bridge. Flood waters expand in low lying areas in south
Montgomery County around 1.5 miles upstream from the gage. The
water will begin to cover portions of Three Rivers Lane... Altamaha
River Road and Ogle sandbar Road.
* Impact... at 11.0 feet... bankfull conditions occur along the river
upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S. Highway 221
bridge. Some flooding begins in low lying areas around 1.5 miles
upstream from the gage in south Montgomery County. The water will
approach portions of Three Rivers Lane... Altamaha River Road and
Ogle sandbar Road.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* north and central Georgia.

* Through Saturday evening

* widespread additional rainfall amounts of 1.0 to 2.0 inches
remain possible tonight through Saturday... with most of the
rainfall expected to occur tonight through mid Saturday morning.
These rainfall amounts over saturated soil conditions where
around 1.0 to 3.0 inches have already fallen... will continue
to result in above normal stream flows on area creeks and
rivers... and enhance the risk of flooding overnight and on
Saturday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remember... a Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding
based on current rainfall forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.




Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory now in effect until 8 am EDT Saturday...

* locations... portions of central Georgia.

* Winds... northeast 15 to 20 mph with occasional gusts up to 35
mph.

* Timing... tonight through early Saturday morning.

* Impacts... occasional strong and gusty winds over saturated grounds
could down top-heavy trees or moderate to large sized branches that
have been weakened. High profile vehicles are also affected by
these winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 20 mph
or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.
