northwestern Jackson County in southwestern Minnesota...

* until 915 am CDT Tuesday

* at 918 PM CDT... trained weather spotters reported heavy
rainfall... with as much as 2 to 4 inches of rain reported Monday
evening due to thunderstorms. Ponding of water was reported in the
city of Worthington. While thunderstorms have moved away from the
warning area... water will be slow to drain... and will result in
rises in area streams and creek levels overnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Worthington... Sibley... Brewster... Little Rock... Round Lake... Bigelow and
Okabena.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... don't drown!

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
