Public Information Statement

Statement as of 2:46 PM CDT on July 01, 2016

... Updated June 22 2016 tornado event summary...

NWS ground survey data combined with aerial photography, radar
and satellite imagery, and detailed reports from trained storm
spotters have helped to determine that 15 tornadoes occurred
across the NWS Chicago County Warning Area on Wednesday June 22.
This is two more than our previous count. We believe this likely
is a final tornado count unless previously unknown information
comes to light.

In addition, three tornadoes occurred across the NWS Quad Cities
County Warning Area on June 22, making the total tornado count
for northern Illinois at 18.

The strongest tornadoes occurred just north of Marseilles and
Seneca in LaSalle County, and in Pontiac in Livingston County.

Detailed breakdowns of each tornado can be found below. The two
new tornadoes included included in this report are from
Chatsworth and Clifton.
