The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Fayette County in east central Indiana...
Union County in east central Indiana...
Wayne County in east central Indiana...
Franklin County in southeast Indiana...

* until 745 am EDT.

* At 445 am EDT... radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain
pushing through eastern Indiana. Rainfall rates of up to 1.5
inches per hour are possible... with some locations accumulating up
to 2 inches of rain by 7 am.

* Minor flooding of low lying and poorly drained streets... highways
and underpasses will occur. In addition... farmland near creeks...
streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.

Some locations that may be impacted include... Brookville...
Connersville... Liberty... Richmond... Cambridge City... Centerville...
Fountain City... Hagerstown... Laurel... Oldenburg and West College
Corner.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Indiana and Ohio... including
the following areas... in Indiana... Dearborn... Fayette in...
Franklin in... Ripley... Union in and Wayne. In Ohio... Butler...
Clark... Clinton... Fayette OH... Franklin OH... Greene...
Hamilton... Madison... Montgomery... Pickaway... Preble and
Warren.

* Through this afternoon

* an advancing cold front will bring the potential for heavy rain
through this morning and into the afternoon hours. There is
potential for locally heavy rain as well as possible training of
thunderstorms over the same area for several hours. Heavy rain
is possible over areas which have received from 2 to nearly 5
inches of rain over the past two days... with soil conditions
nearly saturated in some areas.

* The arrival of the heavy rain during the morning commute will
potentially create hazardous driving conditions in areas of
heavy rain.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flooding of small streams, creeks
and other drainage areas is possible within the watch area.
People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be
prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding
occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued.
