The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Simpson County in south central Kentucky...
Warren County in south central Kentucky...
this includes the city of Bowling Green...

* until 1100 PM CDT

* at 757 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
torrential rainfall from thunderstorms moving northward through
Simpson and Warren counties.

National Weather Service Doppler radar estimates that up to an inch
of rain has fallen in the last hour. An additional 1 to 2 inches
will be possible over the next few hours.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* a surge of tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will bring
copious amounts of moisture to the Ohio Valley overnight and
Sunday morning. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected
overnight and these storms will be capable of producing
torrential rainfall. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches will be possible. However... in areas that see repeated
rounds of thunderstorm activity 3 to 4 inches of rainfall may
occur.

* Creeks and rivers may overcome their banks and into roadways
within the Flash Flood Watch area. In addition... typical flood
prone areas and other low-lying spots may quickly flood as heavy
rainfall passes through the region.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

very heavy rainfall from thunderstorms over the advisory area.

National Weather Service Doppler radar indicates that around one
inch of rainfall has fallen across the advisory area. An additional
1 to 2 inches will fall over the next few hours. Runoff from heavy
rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and
streams... and ponding of water on country roads and farmland along
the banks of creeks and streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heavy rains associated with this storm may produce ponding of water
on roadways. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use extra
caution while traveling.
