The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
southwestern Clinton County in northwestern Missouri...
northeastern Platte County in west central Missouri...
northwestern Clay County in west central Missouri...
southeastern Buchanan County in northwestern Missouri...

* until 700 PM CDT

* at 618 PM CDT... a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over Camden Point... or near Platte
City... moving northeast at 25 mph.

Hazard... tornado.

Source... radar indicated rotation.

Impact... flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs... windows... and vehicles will occur. Tree
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Smithville... Gower... Trimble... Edgerton...
Camden Point and Ridgely.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 22 and 28.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors... in a
Mobile home... or in a vehicle... move to the closest substantial
shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
945 PM CDT for northwestern Leavenworth... Doniphan... Atchison...
southwestern Andrew... northwestern Platte... central Buchanan and
southeastern Holt counties...

At 610 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Radar rainfall estimates under the heaviest downpours
are between 1 and 2 inches within the past hour. This will cause
Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory area. Heavy rainfall
will taper off from west to east over the next half hour to hour.

St. Joseph... Leavenworth... Atchison... Savannah... Platte City...
Weston... Wathena... Elwood... Highland... Troy... Country Club villa...

central Buchanan counties until 630 PM CDT...

At 606 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Weston... moving northeast at 25 mph.

Dime size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Weston... Dearborn... Camden Point and Ridgely.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 22 and 31.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm... and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
