The National Weather Service in Springfield has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Barry County in southwest Missouri...
Christian County in southwest Missouri...
northwestern Taney County in southwest Missouri...
southeastern McDonald County in southwest Missouri...
Stone County in southwest Missouri...

* until 700 PM CDT.

* At 1240 PM CDT... local law enforcement officials reported that
excessive rainfall was producing flash flooding across the warned
area. Up to six inches of rain has fell across portions of the
warned area... causing dangerous flash flooding. Rainfall over
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas is likely to spread back
northward into the warned area later this afternoon and evening.
The flash flood emergencies remain in effect for Flat
Creek... Roaring River... central Stone County... and western Taney
County including the city of Branson.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Locations in the warning include... big Sugar Creek State
Park... Branson West... Cassville... Crane... Exeter... Galena...
Highlandville... Indian Point... Kimberling City... Lanagan... Merriam
Woods... Noel... Ozark... Pineville... Reeds Spring... Roaring River
State Park... Rockaway Beach... Seligman... South West City... Sparta
and Washburn. Creeks... streams and low water crossings will be
especially susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...

Highway 13 at railey creek near Reeds Spring...
Highway 13 at Pine Run northwest of Galena...
Route u at pedelo creek northeast of Sparta...
Route y at Flat Creek just northeast of Cassville...
Route c just south of McDowell.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It only takes a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.

... Flash flood emergency for central and southern Stone County and
for western Taney County including the city of Branson...

... A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 400 PM CDT for
central stone and west central Taney counties...

At 1041 am CDT... local fire officials reported that excessive
rainfall was producing flash flooding across the warned area. Water
rescues were occurring on bird and animal safari roads. One is a
person trapped in a home and the other is an occupied vehicle being
swept down stream.

This is a flash flood emergency for central and southern Stone
County and for western Taney County including the city of Branson.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall is causing flash flooding.
Locations in the warning include... Branson West... Branson...
Hollister... Indian Point... Kimberling City... Reeds Spring and Table
Rock State Park. Creeks... streams and low water crossings will be
especially susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...

Highway 13 at railey creek near Reeds Spring.

Rainfall amounts from 3 to 6 inches have already fallen with
additional rainfall in excess of 2 inches expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Multiple swift water Rescue teams have been or are being deployed in
response to extreme flash flooding. This is a very dangerous flood
event.

* At 956 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated an
area of very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Up to 4 inches
of rain is expected to occur in portions of the warned area
through 4pm.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Locations in the warning include... Forsyth... Gainesville...
Rockaway Beach and Taneyville. Creeks... streams and low water
crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flash
flooding.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...

Route W at Caney Creek just east of Brownbranch...
Highway 181 at Bryant creek northeast of Sycamore...
Route T at Lick Creek 6 miles south of Gainesville...
Highway 95 at Bryant creek just east of Rockbridge...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Kansas and Missouri... including the
following areas... in southeast Kansas... Bourbon... Cherokee
and Crawford. In Missouri... Barry... Barton... Benton...
Camden... Cedar... Christian... Dade... Dallas... Dent... Douglas...
Greene... Hickory... Jasper... Laclede... Lawrence... Maries...
McDonald... Miller... Morgan... Newton... Ozark... Phelps... Polk...
Pulaski... St. Clair... stone... Taney... Texas... Vernon...
Webster and Wright.

* Through Wednesday evening

* this afternoon... showers and a few embedded storms will move
across the area. Pockets of locally heavy rainfall are possible
where heavier showers train... or repeated move across the same
area. Additional widespread moderate to heavy rainfall will
develop across the region tonight and Wednesday as low pressure
moves northeast along a front that is stalled over the area.
Storm total rainfall amounts between two and four inches are
currently expected across the watch area... with locally higher
amounts possible. The highest rainfall amounts tonight through
Wednesday are currently expected along and northwest of the
Interstate 44 corridor.

* Soils are already saturated across the region... and many
creeks... streams and rivers are already running above normal.
This additional rainfall is expected to lead to flash flooding
of streams... flood prone areas... and low water crossings.
Flooding of larger rivers may also occur.

Those camping or floating along area streams and rivers should be
alert for rising water levels.

Rivers potentially impacted by flooding include the Osage...
Marmaton... Spring ... Elk... James... and Gasconade.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

            Major flooding occuring in Branson on primary and
            secondary roads. Water rescues along animal safari Road
            and bird Road. One was a residence and the other was a
            vehicle swept off Road. Road closures of cliff drive and
            canal.Stockstill park extensively damaged.Senior center
            parking lot flooded.

            has major flooding.

Flash flood, reported by amateur radio.


            Report of water over Road on Columbus Road just north of
            Forsyth nearly 2 feet and rising. Water is flowing with
            debris in it.
