Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Blue River near blue.

* Until Saturday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 9:30 am Friday the stage was 26.9 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Blue River will rise above flood stage early Friday
afternoon and crest near 29.5 feet early Saturday morning. The Blue
River will fall below flood stage early Saturday afternoon.

* Impact... at 30.0 feet... farmlands are briefly flooded along the
river... from central Bryan County to the confluence with the Red
River. Flood depths average 2 feet... with property isolated in
low-lying fields close to the river. Inflows from local streams
could cause higher stages in their common flood plain.

... Flood Warning extended until Tuesday evening...

the Flood Warning continues for
the clear Boggy Creek near Caney.

* Until Tuesday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 7:00 am Friday the stage was estimated at 24.7 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

* Forecast... the clear Boggy Creek will continue rising and crest
near 24.9 feet Friday evening. The clear Boggy Creek will fall
below flood stage early Tuesday afternoon.

* Impact... at 25.0 feet... creek levels rise to six feet higher than
flood stage... spreading over most of the bottomlands in western
Atoka County... and the northeastern edge of Bryan County.
Agricultural lands are inundated for many hours... and machinery
and other property are cut off from access. Many rural roads become
impassable. Downstream in Choctaw County... U.S. Highway 70 may be
overtopped several hours after the crest passes the Caney river
gage site.

* Through Saturday evening

* heavy rainfall will be possible through the day today as
scattered daytime thunderstorms develop across the area. More
widespread heavy rainfall is expected overnight tonight into
Saturday morning as a cold front pushes south across Oklahoma
and North Texas. Locally 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible with
higher amounts.
