southeastern Wagoner... Pittsburg... Ottawa... Muskogee... Mayes...
McIntosh... west central Haskell... western Delaware... Craig and
western Cherokee counties until 1030 PM CDT...

At 446 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
areas of light rain across the warned area. Although additional
rainfall amounts will remain light... 2 to 5 inches of rain... with
pockets of 7 inch amounts... has already fallen and flooding of low
lying areas will likely continue.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Eufaula... McAlester... Miami... Muskogee... Pryor... Vinita... Wagoner...
Adair... Afton... Alderson... Arrowhead State Park... Ashland...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the Road to
unknown depths. It only takes two feet of rushing water to carry away
most sport utility vehicles and pickups. Take a different Route to
reach your destination or wait until the water recedes. Remember...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Arkansas and Oklahoma... including the following
areas... in Arkansas... Benton... Carroll... Crawford... Franklin...
   Madison... Sebastian and Washington. In Oklahoma... Adair...
Cherokee... Choctaw... Craig... creek... Delaware... Haskell...
Latimer... Le Flore... Mayes... McIntosh... Muskogee... Nowata...
Okfuskee... Okmulgee... Osage... Ottawa... Pawnee... Pittsburg...
Pushmataha... Rogers... Sequoyah... Tulsa... Wagoner and
Washington.

* Through Monday morning

* showers and isolated thunderstorms will remain widespread
through the evening... before tapering off from west to east
during the early morning hours on Monday. Widespread heavy
rainfall has fallen over the past 24 hours with numerous reports
of Road closures across much of eastern Oklahoma and western
Arkansas. Additionally... many rivers and smaller streams are
flooded and many have yet to crest.

* Additional rainfall totals around 1 inch will be possible
through tonight... with isolated amounts near 2 inches
possible... with the heaviest amounts most likely across far
eastern Oklahoma through western Arkansas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Life threatening flooding is ongoing in some areas and any
additional rainfall will only worsen conditions. Be prepared to
heed flood warnings and act quickly.

If you are in the watch area... keep informed... and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued. Have a means of receiving any warnings issued such as a
weather radio.

If you live near... or travel across a stream... creek or river
subject to flooding... now is the time to prepare for dangerous
flooding.
