Special Statement

Statement as of 3:42 AM PDT on July 27, 2015

Expires 10:00 AM EDT on July 28, 2015

... Another round of unseasonably warm temperatures later this
week over much of southwest Washington and northwest Oregon...

Strong high pressure aloft will settle over southwest Washington
and northwest Oregon Wednesday through at least Saturday. Daytime
temperatures are expected to warm into the upper 70s to upper 80s
in many areas Tuesday... but jump into the 90s beginning Wednesday.
The warmest day appears to be Thursday... with temperatures in the
interior lowlands in the middle to upper 90s. A few locations may
hit the 100-degree mark.

It appears relief will be gradual. A little cooling is possible
Friday... but daytime temperatures should still be in the middle
80s to middle 90s at most inland locations. A few more degrees of
cooling is expected Saturday.

The warmest temperatures will occur during the afternoon and early
evening hours... typically between 3 PM and 7 PM. Plan any outdoor
activities accordingly to avoid exertion during the hottest part
of the day. Remember that the interior of a vehicle heats up very
rapidly... even with the windows cracked open. Do not leave
children or pets in vehicles.
