The Flood Warning continues for
the Umpqua river near Elkton.
* At 10:15 PM Sunday the stage was 33.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 33.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river is expected to crest at 33.7 feet around midnight
tonight and will continue to fall to below flood stage through early
Monday morning.
* Impact... at 33.0 feet... slight low-land and agricultural flooding
occurs mainly from the kellog area through Elkton to Scottsburg.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 33.6 feet
on Dec 30 2008.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive through flooded areas or roads. The water may be too
deep to allow for safe passage or there may be unseen damage to the
roadway. Use alternate routes and stay away from riverbanks.

The Flood Warning continues for
the South Fork Coquille river at Myrtle Point.
* At 10:15 PM Sunday the stage was 37.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 33.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river crested at 37.5 feet earlier this eveneing and
will continue to fall to below flood stage by late tomorrow morning.
* Impact... at 37.0 feet... extensive Road and farmland flooding
upstream and downstream of Myrtle Point can be expected. Some
residents of low-lying areas in the vicinity of Myrtle Point may be
threatened.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 35.3 feet
on Nov 21 2012. On January 20 2012 the river crested at 37.04 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive through flooded areas or roads. The water may be too
deep to allow for safe passage or there may be unseen damage to the
roadway. Use alternate routes and stay away from riverbanks.

The Flood Warning continues for
the North Fork Coquille river near Myrtle Point.
* At 10:45 PM Sunday the stage was 38.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river crested at 38.4 feet earlier this evening and
will continue to fall to below flood stage by late tomorrow morning.
* Impact... at 37.0 feet... expect significant flooding along the North
Fork Coquille river and its tributaries. Significant agricultural
flooding can be expected from the Gravelford area to the confluence
with the South Fork Coquille river. Log jams are possible above the
copper bridge which will have greater impacts on this situation
should they occur.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 37.1 feet
on Dec 14 2003. This crest compares to a previous crest of 35.8 feet
on Jan 20 2012.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Coquille river at Coquille.
* At 10:30 PM Sunday the stage was 23.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to crest at 25.98 feet around
5 am PST Monday morning.
* Impact... at 25.0 feet... some homes are flooded along and near the
Coquille river. Roads are flooded in spots in low-lying areas near
the Coquille river.
* Impact... at 27.0 feet... severe flooding in valley. Extensive damage
to Many Farms... homes... and roads. No flooding of downtown parts of
Myrtle Point and Coquille.
* Flood history... the forecast 26 foot crest compares to a previous
crest of 24.3 feet on Apr 1 2012. On January 18, 1971 the river
crested at 25.4 feet.

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
eastern Coos County in southwestern Oregon...

* until 615 am PST Monday

* at 912 PM PST... emergency management reported flooding in rural
portions of Coos County. Up to two inches of rain have already
fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Powers and Sitkum.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the
water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow
your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.

Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch in effect until 7 am PST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a

* Flood Watch for a portion of southwest Oregon... including the
following area... south central Oregon coast.

* Until 7 am PST Monday

* recent very heavy rainfall is causing rapid rises on area
streams... creeks and rivers. There is also the potential for
urban flooding in areas of poor drainage.

* High water... mudslides... rock slides and debris flows will be
possible through the night on area roadways... especially
back roads... but also including including US 101... Highway
42... and Highway 38.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event.
People... structures and roads located below steep slopes... in
canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be a serious risk from
rapidly moving landslides.A Flood Watch means there is a
potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
