* Winds... southwest to west 15 to 25 knots today... and west to
northwest 15 to 25 knots tonight.

* Impacts... hazardous conditions will occur on area lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

Tuesday...

* winds and timing... southwest 15 to 25 kt will veer to the west
and northwest at 20 to 25 kt late this afternoon and early
evening and continue thru Tue morning. Winds will finally
diminish to westerly at 10 to 200 kt Tue afternoon.

* Seas and timing... seas 5 to 9 ft will drop back to 4 to 8 feet
this afternoon thru tonight... and further subside to 3 to 6 ft
during Tue. Wind driven waves at 4 to 7 second periods will
dominate.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and or seas of 6 ft or greater are expected to produce hazardous
wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners,
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions.

Location... began 4.5 miles north of Barnwell in Barnwell County
South Carolina and ended 5.2 miles north-northwest of Denmark in
Bamberg County South Carolina.

... Summary...
the National Weather Service in Columbia has confirmed a tornado
in northwest Barnwell and northern Bamberg County South Carolina
on January 21 2017. This long tracked tornado initially touched
down just west of Monarch Road in Barnwell County, then continued
northeast through Barnwell State Park, across Highway 3, Bufords
branch Road and Highway 78 in Barnwell County just south of
Blackville. The tornado then crossed into Bamberg County and moved
northeast across Fox Grove Road and char-Augusta Road, before
dissipating just prior to the Orangeburg County line. Most of the
damage observed along the path was rated EF0 or EF1, but the
tornado did briefly strengthen into a weak EF2 as it crossed
through Barnwell State Park. Hundreds of Hardwood and softwood
trees were either snapped at the trunk or uprooted. Numerous
trees fell on homes resulting in roof damage. Several structures
were either heavily damaged or destroyed. The greatest structural
damage occurred to a single wide Mobile home along Highway 3 which
rolled several times and had the floors separated from the
undercarriage. The female resident of this home was trapped and
sustained injuries. Other structures suffered extensive roof
damage, including several Chicken houses.
