* Flood Advisory for...
Cumberland County in middle Tennessee...
this includes the city of Crossville...
Fentress County in middle Tennessee...
this includes the city of Jamestown...
Overton County in middle Tennessee...
this includes the city of Livingston...
Pickett County in middle Tennessee...
this includes the city of Byrdstown...
eastern Putnam County in middle Tennessee...
this includes the city of Cookeville...

* until 1130 PM CDT

* at 927 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking
numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms... with heavy downpours...
across the northern Cumberland Plateau. Some spots in this area have
already received between one and two inches of rain... and an additional
one to one and half inches of rain is likely over parts of the advisory
area between now and 1100 PM.

Some of the cities included in this advisory include... Cookeville...
Livingston... Crossville... Jamestown... and Byrdstown.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of middle Tennessee...
including the following counties... Bedford... Cannon... Clay...
Coffee... Cumberland... Davidson... De Kalb... Fentress... Giles...
Grundy... Jackson... Macon... Marshall... Maury... Overton...
Pickett... Putnam... Rutherford... Smith... Sumner... Trousdale...
Van Buren... Warren... white... Williamson and Wilson.

* Through Sunday afternoon

* persistent heavy rainfall.

* Creeks and rivers may overcome their banks into roadways within
the watch area. The heaviest rainfall may result in more
significant flash flooding of roadways making driving dangerous
and impassable.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The Beechgrove NOAA Weather Radio transmitter... broadcasting on a
frequency of 162.475 mhz... is off the air due to a power outage.

Technicians are working to return power to the site as soon as possible.
In the meantime... please tune to local media and commercial radio
for the latest severe weather information. Backup NOAA Weather
Radio transmitters are:

Winchester, al... broadcasting on a frequency of 162.525 mhz... or
channel 6 on most NOAA weather radios... and Spencer... broadcasting
on a frequency of 162.450 mhz... or channel 3 on most NOAA weather
radios.

Keep in mind that not all backup transmitters will tone for your
specific County... so please stay weather aware during the outage.
