The National Weather Service in Midland has issued an

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southwestern Pecos County in southwest Texas...
northern Brewster County in southwest Texas...

* until midnight CDT

* at 648 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated scattered thunderstorms
producing very heavy rainfall along and near Highway 385 in
southern Pecos County to near Marathon. Other storms were
near and along Highway 90 between alpine and Marathon in northern
Brewster County. Other storms were near and along State Highway
118 south of alpine. Additional rainfall will likely result in
areas of flooding along and near Highway 385 in southern Pecos
County and along Highway 90 and Highway 118 in northern Brewster
County.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Additional rainfall is expected which could increase the potential
for flooding in the warned area.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

County... northern Lea County and southern Lea County. In
Texas... Andrews... Borden... Crane... Davis/Apache Mountains
area... Dawson... Ector... Gaines... Glasscock... Guadalupe
Mountains... Howard... Loving... Martin... Midland... Mitchell...
Pecos... Reagan... Reeves County and upper trans Pecos...
Scurry... Upton... Van Horn and Highway 54 corridor... Ward and
Winkler.

* Through Saturday morning

* abundant moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Odile will
continue to move into the region. An additional 1 to 2 inches
of rain is possible in the watch area through tonight... with
isolated amounts of 3 to 5 inches.

* Flooding of creeks... arroyos... low water crossings and city
streets will be possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
