* until 215 am CDT

* at 1113 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Austin... Round Rock... New Braunfels... Cedar Park... Georgetown...
Pflugerville... San Marcos... Taylor... Elgin... Wimberley... Dripping

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

* until 615 am CDT

* at 1217 am CDT... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that up to ten inches of rain has fallen over parts of Kendall and
blanco counties. Widespread rainfall totals of two to six inches
has fallen over the warned area. Another line of thunderstorms
with heavy rainfall is forecast to move through the area over the
next six hours... likely producing an additional one to three
inches of rain. Widespread flash flooding is occurring... so any
additional rainfall could produce catastrophic flash flooding.

... Forecast flooding increased from minor to moderate severity...
the Flood Warning continues for the Guadalupe River near Spring Branch.
* Until Monday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:00 PM Saturday the stage was 30.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river level will continue rising to near 36.9 feet by very
early Sunday morning. The river level will fall below flood stage early Monday
morning.
* Impact... at 36.0 feet... moderate lowland flooding reaches secondary roads and
low bridges in the flood plain. Recreationists should evacuate the river banks
because of dangerous turbulent flow. Low sections of Guadalupe River State
Park have tables, trash cans, and equiment damaged. Lowest homes in Kendall
County to Canyon Lake flood..
* flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 38.0 feet on Dec 21
1991.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of south central Texas... including the following
areas... Atascosa... Bandera... Bastrop... Bexar... blanco...
Burnet... Caldwell... Comal... De Witt... Dimmit... Edwards...
Fayette... frio... Gillespie... Gonzales... Guadalupe... Hays...
Karnes... Kendall... Kerr... Kinney... Lavaca... Lee... Llano...
Maverick... Medina... real... Travis... Uvalde... Val Verde...
Williamson... Wilson and Zavala.

* Through Sunday evening

* additional thunderstorms capable of heavy rainfall will move
across south central Texas producing additional rainfall totals
of 1 to 3 inches with isolated additional amounts to 5 inches
possible.

* Due to the very moist conditions of the grounds and soils in
the area... rapid flash flooding of low water crossings and
some roadways will be possible where heavy rains develop. Area
rivers and streams are also elevated. Some of these rivers and
streams may reach their flood stages very quickly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding is possible in or near
the watch area. If you are in the watch area... plan now for what
you will do if flash flooding develops. Stay informed and be
ready to act if you see flooding or if a Flash Flood Warning is
issued.

Do not drive into flooded roadways. The majority of flood related
fatalities occur in vehicles. If you see a flooded roadway...
remember... turn around... dont drown.
