... Flash Flood Watch in effect until midnight CDT tonight...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south Texas... including the
following areas... Aransas... Bee... Calhoun... Duval... Goliad...
Jim Wells... Kleberg... La Salle... Live Oak... McMullen...
Nueces... Refugio... San Patricio and Victoria.

* Until midnight CDT tonight

* heavy rainfall from thunderstorms may lead to flash flooding
this evening. Average rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
expected with isolated locations receiving 4 to 6 inches.

* Streets... underpasses and streams will have the greatest impact
from the heavy rainfall. Motorists need to take extra
precautions during the Monday morning commute. Never drive into
a roadway covered in water. Turn around... do not drown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... Strengthening winds in the wake of a thunderstorm complex...

Easterly winds are strengthening in the wake of a thunderstorm
complex that moved through south Texas this evening. Pressure
rises across south Texas will lead to increasing winds ranging
from 20 to 30 mph with possible gusts to 40 mph. The stronger
winds are expected to be short lived lasting through approximately
midnight. Winds after midnight are expected to generally be
southeast 10 to 15 mph.

complex that moved through south Texas this evening. Pressure

Tornado, reported by NWS storm survey.


            NWS storm survey concluded a weak EF-0 tornado touched
            down on southwest side of Taft at intersection of Wilburn
            and Mexico street and travelled east for six tenths of a
            mile snapping several large trees at their base... lifting
            shingles from a few homes and tossing outdoor furniture.
            Multiple videos/images of a well defined funnel were also
            recorded by the public.

            confirming a weak tornado touched down in Taft producing
