... Heat advisory remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to
8 PM PDT this evening...

* temperatures... highs 99 to 105.

* Timing... temperatures will be warmest between 1 PM and 8 PM.

* Locations... Clarkston... and Asotin.

* Impacts... hot temperatures will have the potential to create
heat related illnesses. People who are unable to care for
themselves will be at most risk... including Young children and
the elderly. Limit outdoor activities during the afternoon
when temperatures will be warmest. Seek shaded areas often to
cool off and consume plenty of water to keep hydrated.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency... call 911. A heat advisory means that a period
of hot temperatures is expected. The hot temperatures will create
a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of
fluids... stay in an air- conditioned room... stay out of the sun...
and check up on relatives and neighbors.

A red flag warning remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to
11 PM PDT Saturday.

* Affected area... in orz643... fire weather zone 643 northern
Blue Mountains of Oregon. In orz645... fire weather zone 645
Wallowa district. In waz643... fire weather zone 643 Blue
Mountains of Washington. In waz645... fire weather zone 645
Asotin County.

* Timing... scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and
evening and each afternoon and evening through Saturday.

* Thunderstorms... some of the thunderstorms could produce
erratic winds with gusts to 40 mph and pea to Marble size
hail.

* Precipitation... there will be a mix of wet and dry
thunderstorms with anywhere from a few hundredths of an inch
to over one quarter inch of rain possible.

* Lightning activity level... 3 to locally 4 through Saturday.

* Impacts... frequent lightning and critically dry fuels may
result in numerous fire starts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The low temperature at Wenatchee Airport in the past 24 hours was 73
